When the clock strikes 6:00 p.m., our production lines come alive — and so does our maintenance team. As an Industrial Multiskilled Maintenance Technician, you’ll keep critical aluminum casting and extrusion operations running smoothly through sharp diagnostics, thoughtful repairs, and preventive care that prevents downtime before it starts.
Schedule
This is a night shift position from 6pm to 6am with rotating weekends.
What your night looks like
- Jump on service calls from any department, triage breakdowns, and decide repair priorities with plant leadership.
- Diagnose and repair issues across hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, mechanical systems (bearings, couplings, gear reducers, alignments), and electrical systems (power supplies, processors, PCBs, relay/PLC logic).
- Leverage PLC troubleshooting skills to identify faults and restore equipment to optimal performance.
- Execute preventive maintenance on extrusion presses and auxiliary equipment, melting furnaces, casting units, billet saws, and homogenizing furnaces.
- Perform daily checks: air compressors/compressed air (oil levels, filters, dryers), cooling water systems (levels, quality, filtration), and extrusion presses (oil levels/leaks, billet heater, cutoff saw, transfers, stretcher).
- Install or modify equipment to enhance reliability, simplify operation, and elevate safety — partnering closely with leadership.
- Close work orders promptly and accurately in the CMMS.
- Work safely, follow all company rules and procedures, and leave each area cleaner than you found it. Support upkeep of the maintenance shop.
- Pitch in on other tasks as needed to keep the plant running.
What you bring
Education
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Experience
- Five or more years of related maintenance experience and/or training; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Hands-on proficiency with welding; hydraulic and pneumatic circuits; relay and PLC logic; bearings; gear reducers; equipment alignment; and piping installation.
- Five to seven years in a manufacturing environment.
- Two to five years electrical experience required; five to seven years electrical experience preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedures, blueprints, hydraulic schematics, ladder diagrams, bills of materials, and electrical measurement instrumentation.
- Write clear reports and routine correspondence.
- Comfort with math fundamentals: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Use precision tools (rulers, micrometers, measuring devices) confidently.
- Troubleshoot problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized settings.
