About the Role
You start your day by pulling a stack of job cards. Each one tells a story — job status, authorizations and limitations, estimates, the symptoms reported, and the target serviceability. You’ll juggle simultaneous projects, review specifications, and plan the best route to bring electromechanical equipment back to life.
From there, you’ll inspect motors and related equipment for electrical faults and physical damage, strip down units that need attention, and prepare every reusable part for a fresh wind. You’ll rewind single-phase and three-phase motors, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers — always observing proper insulating practices. You’ll test windings to the EASA AR100 standard, reassemble with care, and verify output and operation before the unit returns to service.
What You’ll Do
- Review job cards to understand status, work authorizations/limitations, estimates, problem descriptions, and expected serviceability.
- Inspect various types of electromechanical equipment to identify damage and electrical malfunctions.
- Dismantle/strip equipment that’s unserviceable and prepare all reusable parts for rewinding; check renewed parts for hidden or structural issues.
- Rewind single‑phase, three‑phase, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers using correct insulating techniques.
- Test winding condition in accordance with EASA AR100, then reassemble and retest for proper output and operation.
- Complete all job paperwork accurately and on time.
- Operate specialized equipment: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core‑loss testers, cut‑off saws, burnout ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and a variety of hand and power tools.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE, with special attention to eye and ear protection.
- Keep your work area clean and organized; pitch in with additional duties as directed by your supervisor.
What You Bring
- Previous electric motor winding experience is required.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, machinery, and tools — including their design, application, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to balance multiple projects, interpret specifications, and meet quality and safety expectations.
