    Description

Atlas Seals | Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Technician

Pay rate is negotiable based on experience.

Your mission: protect uptime and elevate performance across a fleet that spans CNC lathes, mills, Wire EDMs, and custom automated machinery. You’ll be the person who can walk up to a downed system, separate symptoms from causes, and get production moving—safely and sustainably—while laying the groundwork to prevent the issue from returning.

This isn’t a facilities-only job. You’ll focus primarily on production equipment, with occasional support for general building and facility maintenance.

    Your impact

    • Plan and perform preventive maintenance that keeps CNC and automation assets running at their best.
    • Diagnose and correct mechanical faults on both commercial and custom-built equipment.
    • Support pneumatics and basic hydraulics: cylinders, solenoids, sensors, proximity switches, valves, actuators, pumps, motors, bearings, gearboxes, relays, contactors, and VFDs.
    • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems; quickly determine whether issues are electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or controls-related.
    • Work confidently with 24 VDC control circuits and 480 VAC three‑phase power.
    • Read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, electrical schematics, and pneumatic diagrams to guide effective repairs.
    • Leverage multimeters and precision measuring tools to verify hypotheses and close out root causes.
    • Install and upgrade equipment; contribute to modifications and continuous‑improvement projects.
    • Maintain PM plans and capture complete maintenance/repair documentation.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to uncover chronic issues and increase reliability.
    • Champion safety—especially Lockout/Tagout—every time.

    What you’ll need

    • Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Hands-on PM experience with CNC tools; lathe/mill preferred. Wire EDM familiarity is a plus.
    • Mechanical problem-solver with confidence tackling unfamiliar machines.
    • Working knowledge of pneumatics, basic hydraulics, motors, bearings, sensors, switches, valves, and other common industrial components.
    • Industrial electrical troubleshooting skills and comfort around standard control hardware.
    • Ability to work safely with 24 VDC controls and 480 VAC three‑phase equipment.
    • Fluency reading mechanical/electrical/pneumatic documentation.
    • A disciplined, root‑cause approach to diagnostics—not part swapping.
    • Computer fluency beyond Word/Excel: navigating software, interfacing with computerized equipment, researching technical data, connecting to equipment, learning new programs and HMIs.
    • Self‑direction and ownership from first symptom to final resolution.

Advance your impact with controls expertise

Candidates with strong automation/controls troubleshooting are considered for a higher compensation range. We use Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell platforms across legacy and modern systems. The goal isn’t designing from scratch; it’s connecting to what exists, understanding the intended sequence, and finding exactly why it’s off track.

    • AB SLC‑series + RSLogix 500.
    • ControlLogix + RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000.
    • Going online to observe ladder logic, inputs/outputs, interlocks, timers, alarms, and sequences to diagnose.
    • PanelView HMIs; legacy RSView.
    • DeviceNet networks and diagnostic tools.
    • AB servo drives and motion systems, including legacy platforms.
    • Industrial troubleshooting at 24 VDC control and 480 VAC three‑phase.
    • PNP/NPN sensors; discrete I/O; analog 0–10 VDC and 4–20 mA instrumentation.
    • Field I/O devices: sensors, solenoids, relays, contactors, motors, drives, actuators, and safety devices.
    • Reading schematics and tracing signals through control circuits.
    • Support for custom automated machinery when OEM service isn’t available.
    • Maintenance/troubleshooting of legacy automation hardware and software.

    Additional plus

Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, VB.NET, VB6, or other PC‑based machine‑control/HMI applications.

We welcome applicants at different experience levels who meet the core qualifications. If you bring the fundamentals and a problem‑solving mindset, let’s talk—even if you’re still building out advanced controls skills.
