Job Description Summary

Are you an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic looking for an opportunity to join a world-class manufacturing team? Owens Cornings Waxahachie facility is seeking skilled maintenance professionals who enjoy troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while supporting continuous improvement efforts across the facility.

  • Starting Pay: $41.75/hr
  • Union Wage Increase Effective November 2026: $44.78/hr
  • Training Schedule: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 4 days per week
  • Regular Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Shift Differential: $1.15/hr for night shift hours

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety and housekeeping programs.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment modifications as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Repair and rebuild mechanical equipment, components, and assemblies.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Complete work orders and document maintenance activities accurately.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks such as replacing bulbs, switches, and similar components where specialized electrical troubleshooting is not required.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations as needed.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Ability to secure and maintain forklift certification.

Computer and Software Competencies

  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to learn and utilize SAP and other maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to accurately document maintenance activities electronically.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 preferred (not required)
  • Possesses valid forklift driver certification.
  • Related experience and/or training in an industrial environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
