Murphy's Family Staffing is recruiting an Industrial Mechanical Foreman / Working Foreman for an established industrial mechanical contractor based in Palmyra, Pennsylvania.
We're looking for a hands-on professional with experience in industrial pipefitting, pipe welding, mechanical equipment installation, millwright work, machinery maintenance, and industrial fabrication.
You don't need 10–15 years of supervisory experience to qualify! If you have a strong industrial mechanical background, can read blueprints, perform quality work, and have the ability to lead other skilled tradespeople, we want to hear from you.
This is a WORKING FOREMAN position, not a job where you stand around supervising. You'll work alongside your crew while helping coordinate projects, maintain safety, and ensure quality workmanship.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Industrial Pipefitting & Welding
Perform industrial pipe layout, fitting, fabrication, and installation.
Cut, bend, thread, align, and weld piping systems.
Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials.
Perform TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding.
Read piping drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Industrial Mechanical & Millwright Work
Install, repair, maintain, and modify industrial machinery and equipment.
Work on bearings, drives, shafts, conveyors, and mechanical systems.
Perform equipment alignment, leveling, and machinery installation.
Install or modify industrial ductwork and fluid-handling systems.
Assist with rigging, structural steel supports, platforms, and equipment setting.
Perform cutting, grinding, metal fabrication, and equipment demolition when required.
Working Foreman & Field Leadership
Help lead industrial mechanics, millwrights, welders, and pipefitters on job sites.
Work directly alongside crew members to complete projects.
Coordinate daily work activities, tools, equipment, and materials.
Train and mentor less-experienced employees.
Maintain safe working conditions and enforce jobsite safety requirements.
Communicate with customers, project managers, and superintendents.
Perform quality inspections and assist with project documentation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
REQUIRED / CORE QUALIFICATIONS
2–5+ years of hands-on industrial mechanical experience or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems, layout, pipefitting, and installation.
Hands-on experience with industrial mechanical equipment and machinery.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Experience with industrial welding processes and metal fabrication.
Familiarity with industrial equipment repair, installation, and maintenance.
Ability to work independently and assist in directing other tradespeople.
Strong communication skills and a safety-focused attitude.
Ability to travel daily to regional jobsites.
High school diploma or GED.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Previous working foreman, lead mechanic, lead pipefitter, or crew leadership experience.
Current or previous welding certifications.
TIG, MIG, and Stick welding proficiency.
Equipment rigging, crane signaling, and machinery alignment.
Conveyor installation and maintenance.
Structural steel erection or fabrication.
Industrial plant maintenance, shutdowns, and equipment installation.
Scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and material-handling equipment.
Preparing material lists, timesheets, and purchase requisitions.
WORK LOCATIONS & TRAVEL
This position is based out of Palmyra, PA, with daily travel to industrial and commercial jobsites throughout Central and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Common project areas include:
Harrisburg
Lancaster
Allentown
Surrounding Pennsylvania communities
Most projects are generally within approximately 1.5 hours of Palmyra. Occasional out-of-state travel or overnight stays may be required.
Work may take place in industrial manufacturing facilities, processing plants, commercial buildings, and active construction sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active, hands-on industrial construction position requiring standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and working indoors and outdoors.
