    Description

    The Industrial Maintenance Technician will safely perform a wide range of duties relating to installation, troubleshooting, repair, unscheduled maintenance, and preventive maintenance of machining equipment with minimal supervision. Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and maintain facility-related systems and equipment. Conduct troubleshooting of complex equipment and systems. Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to the maintenance program and system design.

    Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.

    • Works safely with hazardous chemicals and wears personal protective equipment as required.
    • Installs or replaces machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
    • Observes mechanical devices and equipment in operation and troubleshoots accordingly.
    • Disassembles broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassembles equipment when repairs are complete.
    • Repairs broken or defective parts/equipment, which may include grinding and welding.
    • Tears down, cleans, and rebuilds equipment daily to ensure compliance with general safety requirements.
    • Assists in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors.
    • Communicates with Maintenance Colleagues, Production Supervisors, and Plant Management, as needed.
    • Follows all applicable rules and procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Arc Flash, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and other related programs.
    • Actively participates in Safety Committee and Continuous Improvement Teams to improve operations and safety.
    • Works toward continuous quality improvement.
    • Upholds, supports, and promotes all company policies and procedures.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills, and ability required.

    Education/Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
    • 5+ years of experience in an industrial, electrical, or mechanical manufacturing environment.
    • Electrical/PLC background is beneficial.
    • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting 480VAC 3phase power systems

    Skills/Knowledge:

    • Strong working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and control systems.
    • Possesses the skills needed to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery.
    • Possesses a basic understanding of variable frequency drives, motor starters, overloads, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other electrical circuits.
