Industrial Maintenance TechnicianPosition Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This position is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, and completing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and experience troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment.
Schedule & Pay
- Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
- Pay: $36.00–$38.00/hour, based on experience
- Shift Differential: Additional $0.50/hour
- Overtime: Available and/or required as needed based on production and maintenance demands, particularly during June–September
- Training: Approximately 3–4 weeks on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift
- Employees will receive the 2nd-shift pay rate and differential during training
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with controls-related issues.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Replace, repair, and adjust mechanical and electrical components.
- Identify the root cause of equipment failures and implement corrective repairs.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper and safe operation.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and improvements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, including applicable lockout/tagout requirements.
- Work closely with production personnel and other maintenance team members to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Maintenance Electrician, or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
- Broad industrial maintenance background with both mechanical and electrical capabilities.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding maintenance work in a manufacturing environment.
- Must provide own hand tools; tools are not provided by the facility.
Working Environment
- Manufacturing/production environment.
- Work is performed in a hot, non-climate-controlled facility.
- Summer temperatures can be particularly challenging.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in a hot production environment and around active manufacturing equipment.
- Overtime may be required based on production and maintenance needs.
