Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Compressor Blade Repair & Inspection Technician to support the repair, blending, polishing, and inspection of compressor blades used in aerospace and industrial applications. Compressor blades range in size from approximately 3 inches to 3 feet in height. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in aerospace, automotive body repair, metal finishing, machining, woodworking, or other precision craftsmanship environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform compressor blade blending, sanding, grinding, polishing, and surface restoration activities.
- Inspect individual compressor blades for defects, damage, and surface condition.
- Measure and verify critical dimensions using gauges, callipers, and other measuring tools as needed.
- Conduct visual inspections and support non-destructive testing (NDT) processes.
- Perform ultrasonic and eddy current inspections after completing company-provided training.
- Conduct moment weight checks following established procedures.
- Handle and inspect blades stored in racks or crates, typically containing 40 50 blades.
- Ensure components meet engineering, quality, and customer requirements.
- Follow work instructions, repair manuals, and safety procedures.
- Utilize basic computer systems for job tracking and operational tasks.
Qualifications:- Experience with sanding, grinding, blending, polishing, or similar finishing processes.
- Visual inspection experience preferred.
- Aerospace, automotive body shop, metal fabrication, machining, woodworking, or related hands-on manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Familiarity with gauges, callipers, micrometres, or surface measurement tools is beneficial but not required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to learn ultrasonic, eddy current, and moment weight inspection techniques through company training.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift and move 25 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and repair environment.
Additional Information:- Most training will be conducted on 1st Shift before transitioning to the assigned shift.
