Industrial Maintenance Technician

Pay: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

HWX Enterprises is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing facility in Flint, Michigan. This is a full time, temp to hire opportunity with the potential for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.

The position is primarily mechanically focused, involving troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial production equipment. Candidates should also have electrical maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities. An electrical license, certification, or formal electrical training is strongly preferred.

The position will initially be assigned to 1st shift; however, candidates must be open to working 2nd shift, 3rd shift, weekends, or overtime as operational needs require.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial production and manufacturing equipment
• Perform mechanical maintenance and equipment repairs
• Diagnose equipment failures and minimize production downtime
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Repair and replace motors, bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, conveyors, and related mechanical components
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair as qualified
• Troubleshoot motors, controls, sensors, switches, relays, and other industrial electrical components
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Document completed maintenance and repair activities
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects
• Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements
• Work collaboratively with production and maintenance personnel to maintain equipment reliability

Qualifications

• Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery and production equipment
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Electrical license, electrical certification, or formal electrical training preferred
• PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and effectively troubleshoot equipment problems
• Strong safety awareness and dependable attendance

Schedule Requirements

This position is expected to begin on 1st shift. Candidates should have schedule flexibility and be willing to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, weekends, and overtime when required by operational needs.

Compensation

$25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience, technical capabilities, and qualifications.

This is a temp to hire opportunity with the potential to transition to permanent employment with the client.
