Our client is seeking an experienced Preventive Maintenance Technician to work permanently at a customer’s manufacturing facility in Fife, Washington. This is a site-based position with no regional travel, allowing the technician to work closely with the same customer team each day.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience maintaining CNC and machine tool equipment, strong troubleshooting skills, and excellent communication and documentation habits. The technician will help keep equipment operating safely and efficiently while building a professional working relationship with customer personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC and machine tool equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and site-specific schedules.
- Inspect, adjust, lubricate, and calibrate machinery to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, inspections, parts used, and completed repairs in the site’s maintenance tracking system.
- Communicate equipment status, scheduled maintenance, and potential concerns to operators, supervisors, and site management.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for the service provider and represent the company professionally.
- Monitor parts usage and inventory, coordinating with parts and service teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Follow all facility safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend process or equipment improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience performing preventive maintenance on CNC machines, machine tools, or similar industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to follow maintenance schedules, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Experience documenting maintenance activities in a computerized or site-based tracking system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, customer-focused approach when interacting with operators and management.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with customer and service teams.
- Commitment to safety and established maintenance procedures.
