Nucor Steel Sedalia, LLC is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Sedalia, MO to provide mechanical support to production crews and maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across the site. Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for production crews and site-wide industrial equipment.
- Maintain and upgrade Melt Shop, Roll Mill, and overall facility material handling systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, powertrains, compressors, pumps, and dust control systems.
- Inspect, service, and perform maintenance on overhead cranes.
- Read and interpret mechanical schematics and blueprints to assist with installation, ongoing maintenance, and repairs.
- Actively initiate, lead, and uphold all company safety policies, housekeeping standards, and procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a Rolling Mill or Melt Shop setting.
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical principles, schematics, material handling systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps, welding, and powertrain troubleshooting.
- Overhead crane operation and repair experience.
- Essential core competencies including clear communication, initiative, problem-solving, teamwork, dependability, and practical engineering application.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and weekends.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
