Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume food manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, experience working in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to keep production equipment operating at peak performance.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment including conveyors, forming equipment, mixers, packaging machinery, and automated manufacturing systems.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
Troubleshoot motors, motor controls, relays, contactors, electrical circuits, sensors, and control components.
Repair and replace bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, pumps, valves, and related mechanical components.
Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, PM records, and parts requests.
Fabricate and modify machine components using welding, machining, and metalworking equipment.
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance support equipment as needed.
Follow all GMP, food safety, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
Partner with production teams to prioritize repairs and reduce unplanned downtime.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
2+ years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Experience maintaining high-speed production and packaging equipment.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
Experience with conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and power transmission systems.
Must possess personal maintenance and electrical tools, including a voltmeter and amp meter.
Strong safety mindset and commitment to GMP and food safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

PLC troubleshooting experience.
Experience with packaging machinery and automated production equipment.
MIG, TIG, Stick, or Acetylene welding experience.
Fabrication and machine shop experience including lathe, mill, and machining equipment.
Knowledge of stainless steel and food-grade aluminum welding.
Experience with date coders, glue systems, pneumatic cylinders, and production controls.
Forklift and scissor lift experience.
