    Description

    A day in the life

Your shift begins at 2:00 PM. You walk the floor, listening for changes in machine sounds and scanning dashboards for early warning signs. You queue up preventive maintenance tasks, tune a conveyor, replace a worn belt, and log each activity. When an unexpected fault trips a line, you dive into root-cause analysis—checking mechanical assemblies, tracing electrical control signals, and validating pneumatic and hydraulic pressures—then implement a repair and verify performance before handing the line back to production.

Throughout the evening, you coordinate with operators, vendors, and teammates to plan parts, schedule downtime, and share insights that boost reliability. Before 10:30 PM, you wrap up documentation, communicate equipment statuses, and capture improvement ideas for the next kaizen.

    • Execute preventive maintenance on production equipment and building systems to prevent failures.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, and related components).
    • Diagnose issues on infrastructure systems and production assets; correct and confirm proper operation.
    • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeat issues.
    • Maintain precise maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and modifications.
