What a day looks like
You clock in, review the maintenance queue, and knock out a round of preventive checks. A mechanical press throws a fault—no problem. You trace the issue through hydraulics and pneumatics, pull up the PLC, and isolate the root cause with decisive logic. After lunch, you interpret a schematic to swap a low-voltage component and verify tolerances with precision instruments. Before wrap-up, you make a brief field service visit to support an adjacent line and suggest an upgrade that could prevent repeat failures.
What you’ll handle
- Execute planned and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical presses, hydraulic circuits, and pneumatic controls
- Use PLCs for diagnostics and fault isolation
- Read and apply electrical/mechanical schematics and prints
- Leverage knowledge of hydraulics, low-voltage systems, and precision measuring tools
- Perform field service work as business needs arise
- Recommend parts, upgrades, or services; technical sales aptitude is a plus
