    Industrial Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing Equipment

    Salary: $50,000–$75,000 annually

    Position Overview

    This role is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining production and manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and complete repairs while working independently under limited supervision. The role involves working in an industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise, gas, and chemicals and requires physical activity throughout the shift.


    Primary Responsibilities

    • Perform preventative maintenance on production and manufacturing equipment
    • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete mechanical repairs or adjustments
    • Conduct breakdown analysis to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
    • Upgrade production lines with new equipment and technology
    • Perform package changeovers and production line adjustments
    • Maintain general housekeeping standards in work areas
    • Comply with GMP, safety, and audit requirements
    • Document work schedules, repairs, and completed tasks
    • Work independently while managing assigned maintenance responsibilities
    • Support weekend and/or holiday work as required


    Physical & Work Environment Requirements

    • Continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals
    • Frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling
    • Must provide own hand tools


    Basic Qualifications

    • 18 years of age or older
    • Ability to pass a technical assessment covering job-critical maintenance knowledge
    • Experience with mechanical systems such as gearboxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, and bearings
    • Ability to read and apply product manuals for equipment repairs
    • Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns
    • Experience reading mechanical drawings, including hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Willingness to obtain a High Pressure Black Seal Boiler Operator’s License after the probationary period


    Preferred / Helpful Experience

    • Basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, relays, contacts)
    • Electrical installation, troubleshooting, and frequency drives (VFDs)
    • Conveyors and airveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, speed controls)
    • PLC systems and industrial automation
    • Pneumatics and air compression systems
    • Hydraulics (pumps, valves, cylinders, troubleshooting)
    • Compressors and ammonia/refrigeration systems
    • Pumps, seals, motors, and specification-based repairs
    • Gearing and gearboxes, including rebuilds and parts sourcing
    • Electronics such as level probes, flow meters, and servo systems
    • Preventative maintenance programs and computerized PM tracking
    • Packaging or high-speed production environments (bottling, consumer products)
    • Reading electrical schematics and blueprints
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Experience working in team-based manufacturing environments
