Industrial Maintenance Electrician-Mechanic

Location: Akron, OH

Compensation: $28–$33.60 per hour. Overtime paid at 1.5x (including weekend coverage).

A day in the life

Morning walk-throughs set the tone: you scan critical utilities, listen for the pitch of a fan motor, and check a PLC-driven system that flagged a minor alert overnight. By mid-day, you’ve diagnosed a 480V electrical issue on a commercial panel, welded a bracket to secure a pipe run, and completed a preventive maintenance task on HVAC equipment to keep the facility humming. Before you clock out, you log your work, prep parts for tomorrow, and hand off a concise status update—because consistency keeps production reliable.

What you’ll do

• Own preventive and corrective maintenance for building utilities and systems: electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial electrical systems; experience with 480V is preferred.
• Support facility infrastructure through machining, welding, piping, and light fabrication.
• Assist with PLC-driven equipment as needed (programming/troubleshooting exposure is a plus).
• Provide rotating weekend support every other weekend and handle occasional overtime.
• Earn time-and-a-half for all overtime, including weekend coverage.

What you bring

• 3–10+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in commercial or industrial environments (not residential).
• Strong commercial electrical background; familiarity with 480V preferred.
• Working knowledge of machining, welding, piping, and general fabrication.
• Experience with PLC programming or troubleshooting is a plus.
• Comfort operating in large industrial facilities with diverse systems.
