We are hiring experienced Industrial Machinists for a heavy industrial machining facility in Detroit, MI.
We are looking for individuals with experience in CNC machining, manual machining, or precision surface grinding. This position involves working with large steel components, industrial machinery, and custom machined parts.
Candidates with experience in any one of these machining areas are encouraged to apply.
Set up and operate CNC mills, manual mills, or industrial surface grinders.
Machine and grind large steel components to required specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings.
Perform machine setups, adjustments, and tooling changes.
Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
Work with overhead cranes and other equipment to position heavy parts.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Previous experience in CNC machining, manual machining, or industrial surface grinding.
Experience with one or more of the following:
CNC vertical or horizontal mills
Manual mills, floor mills, planer mills, or boring mills
Mattison, Thompson, Danobat, or similar surface grinders
Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
Experience performing independent machine setups preferred.
Experience machining large steel components preferred.
Overhead crane experience is a plus.
$22–$34/hour, depending on experience and position.
