Location: Aurora, OH | Compensation: $28–$35/hour, based on experience | Employment: Direct hire with full benefits | Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 6:00 PM–2:00 AM with flexibility toward a later 3rd-shift schedule

Champion Personnel is partnering with a manufacturing operation in Aurora, Ohio to hire a seasoned maintenance professional who thrives on keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently.

A day in the life

As your shift begins, you’ll review work orders, scan maintenance logs for patterns, and make a quick tour of the floor to catch issues before they become downtime events. A line calls—an unexpected pneumatic leak. You diagnose, swap out worn components, verify pressures, and bring the machine back online. Later, you complete scheduled preventive maintenance, adjust a troublesome conveyor, and collaborate with operators to fine-tune a setup for the next run. Before clocking out, you document your work and leave the area clean, safe, and organized.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery to restore safe, reliable operation
• Execute preventive and routine maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults; address pneumatic and hydraulic issues
• Repair/replace worn parts and make precise machine adjustments and setups
• Respond rapidly to breakdowns and coordinate with production to minimize impact
• Inspect equipment to identify problems early and plan corrective actions
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment effectively
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area
• Accurately document maintenance and repair activities
• Partner with operators and leadership to keep equipment at peak performance

What you’ll bring

• Proven, hands-on experience in industrial/manufacturing equipment maintenance (not entry-level)
• Confidence troubleshooting complex machinery independently
• Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Dependability, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset

Schedule & pay

• $28–$35/hour, commensurate with experience
• Monday–Friday
• Typically 6:00 PM–2:00 AM; flexibility to shift to a later 3rd-shift schedule as needed
• Direct hire with a full benefits package
