Machine Operator - Wire Drawing to join our manufacturing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply existing manufacturing skills, learn new processes, and work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
The ideal candidate will have at least six months of manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, a reliable attendance record, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Primary FunctionSet up, adjust, operate, and maintain wire drawing machines and related equipment to produce wire products that meet production and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Read, understand, and follow production schedules.
- Interpret and follow written instructions, drawings, and production documents.
- Set up and operate assigned machinery and equipment.
- Load rod coils onto wire drawing machine payoffs.
- Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments as needed.
- Produce finished wire products according to established quality standards.
- Perform routine quality inspections throughout each shift.
- Identify, report, and help resolve equipment or process issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and promptly report accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Communicate with the lead person at the beginning of each shift regarding production priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work rotating shifts every four months.
- Work overtime and Saturdays as required.
Compensation- Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
- Retention Bonus: Up to $1,500 after successful completion of 3 and 6 months
- Incentive Pay Opportunities
- Shift Differentials for 2nd and 3rd Shifts
- Rotating schedule - every four (4) months
- Pay-for-Knowledge Program
Qualifications- Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of production processes and machine operation.
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attendance record and work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to work in hot and cold manufacturing environments.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, climbing, bending, and frequent use of arms and legs.
