Lead complex industrial projects while living on the move
It’s Monday morning and you’re wheels-up to a customer site. By noon, you’re walking the line with the foreman, validating safety controls, sequencing trades, and reconciling today’s plan in Microsoft Project and Procore. After a quick huddle with subcontractors, you host a client check-in, review RFIs, and align on change orders. In the afternoon you approve invoices, track purchase orders, and update the forecast. Before you leave the site, you coach a rising crew lead and partner with Safety, Quality, and HR to reinforce a strong jobsite culture. What you’ll own
- End-to-end oversight of multiple skilled-trades projects (mechanical, electrical, millwright, and related) from pre-construction through closeout across various locations.
- Creation and maintenance of detailed schedules, budgets, and rolling forecasts; proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Strict adherence to contract scope, design documents, codes, and safety regulations; coordination of daily field activities, labor, materials, and subcontractors.
- Primary client interface: lead status updates, progress meetings, and stakeholder communications with clients, engineers, and leadership.
- Efficient documentation management: RFIs, change orders, project correspondence, reports, and performance summaries.
- Financial stewardship: monitor job costs, labor hours, and material spend; approve invoices; track POs; assist with vendor negotiations.
- Team leadership: supervise field teams and foremen; mentor and develop talent; uphold operational excellence and compliance.
- Safety leadership: enforce company safety policies; support OSHA and company-standard compliance; facilitate audits, inspections, and post-incident reviews/corrective actions.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 5–7+ years managing skilled-trades work on multi-site or large industrial/commercial projects.
- Proficiency with project platforms such as Microsoft Project and Procore.
- Fluency in construction documents, estimating, and job costing, with strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work abroad up to 75–90% of the time; willing to travel on short notice and work extended hours during peak phases.
Physical demands
- Comfort working on active construction sites with outdoor exposure, elevated noise levels, and ongoing trade activity.
- Frequent walking and standing; ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
