    Description

    Tesla is looking for a highly motivated engineering technician to contribute to implementing and sustaining Industrial Engineering principles to the total manufacturing process of our Remanufacturing Team at Gigafactory Nevada. Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, you will help optimize our manufacturing process. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Tesla's world class manufacturing facility in Sparks. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on critical subsystems of an incredibly exciting product.

    • Assist Industrial Engineers in developing and deploying efficient systems to integrate production associates, machines, material requirements, and information to achieve optimal manufacturing processes
    • Collaborate with Production Management and cross-functional support teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordingly
    • Assist Engineers and Production Management to plan work assignments based on production associate performance, machine capability, and production schedules. Knowledge of rules regarding alternative work schedules
    • Ability to create multi-process workstation layouts, standardized work, staffing and process maps to execute a successful rebalance of workstations as needed
    • Ability to prepare diagrams to illustrate workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material handling, and equipment utilization
    • Ability to collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize process. Working knowledge of 5S principles, Work Measurement, JIT, Kanban and Problem Solving Methods
    • Degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years' experience working as a Technician or Production Lead
    • Understands the definition of Takt time, target cycle time, and factors of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in depth
    • Moderate data analysis skills - Tableau/Splunk/SQL knowledge is a plus
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Visio is a plus). Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic drawings and formula
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal. Conflict resolution and change management skills are a plus

    Essential Physical Demands

    • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
    • Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time over varied and uneven terrain
    • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 30 lbs. and climb a 10" step and back down
    • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift, reach, stoop, lay, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time
    • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
    • Potential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materials
