    Description

    Tesla s LFP Cell Manufacturing Team at our Reno/Tahoe Campus near Gigafactory Nevada, in the beautiful Tahoe region, is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering Technician to help implement and sustain Industrial Engineering principles across our cutting-edge manufacturing processes. In this role, you ll collaborate with engineers, production management, and cross-functional teams to optimize production, material flow, and efficiency as we ramp a greenfield LFP battery factory. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the largest battery manufacturing facilities in the world in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

    • Assist Industrial Engineers in developing and deploying efficient systems to integrate production associates, machines, material requirements, and information to achieve optimal manufacturing processes
    • Collaborate with Production Management and cross-functional support teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordingly
    • Support capacity planning, labor forecasting, and work assignment planning based on production associate performance, machine capability, and production schedules
    • Create multi-process workstation layouts, standardized work, staffing plans, process maps, and diagrams illustrating workflow, product routing, floor layouts, material flow, and equipment utilization using tools such as AutoCAD or Visio
    • Conduct statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize processes
    • Participate in continuous improvement projects applying Lean, 5S, PDCA, JIT, Kanban, and other problem-solving methodologies
    • Degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years' experience working as a Technician or Production Lead
    • Understands the definition of Takt time, target cycle time, and factors of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in depth
    • Moderate data analysis skills - Tableau/Splunk/SQL knowledge is a plus
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Visio is a plus). Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic drawings and formula
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal. Conflict resolution and change management skills are a plus

    Essential Physical Demands

    • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
    • Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time over varied and uneven terrain
    • Frequently and repetitively lift, push, carry up to 30 lbs., bend, reach, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for extended periods of time
    • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
    • Potential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materials
    • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, clean room suits, respiratory devices, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
