Description

Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving operational processes to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety while reducing costs and waste. This role utilizes engineering principles, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows, labor utilization, equipment performance, and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current production, operational, and business processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct time studies, work measurements, and process evaluations to establish labor standards.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Design and optimize workflows, facility layouts, and material handling systems.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide data-driven recommendations to improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Safety.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput, and increase resource utilization.
  • Support capacity planning, labor planning, and workforce optimization.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities to resolve operational issues.
  • Utilize engineering software and data analysis tools to model and improve processes.
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, and process validation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or process improvement environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with work measurement, labor standards, and process mapping.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, Power BI, Tableau, or simulation software.
  • Knowledge of ERP, MES, or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or fulfillment operations

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Merritt Island, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
