Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Analyze warehouse operations to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, productivity, and cost savings.
  • Design and optimize facility layouts, material flow, and warehouse processes.
  • Develop labor standards, perform time studies, and establish engineered labor metrics.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects that improve operational performance.
  • Utilize data analytics to measure KPIs, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Create process documentation, standard operating procedures, and engineering reports.
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses for capital improvement initiatives.
  • Support implementation of new equipment, automation, and operational technologies.
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Finance, and other departments to execute engineering projects.
  • Mentor junior engineering team members and provide technical guidance when needed.
  • Travel to other distribution facilities to support engineering initiatives and best practice implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • 2-4 years of Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Distribution Engineering experience.
  • Experience improving warehouse or manufacturing operations through Lean methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing labor standards and conducting time studies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, with occasional travel up to 50% during major projects.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with process simulation software.
  • Previous experience supporting third-party logistics (3PL) or distribution center operations.
  • Spanish language skills.
  • Experience implementing warehouse automation or material handling systems.
