The Industrial Engineer will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, optimizing workflows, enhancing equipment evaluation and refurbishment processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a passion for process optimization, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to deliver measurable business results.
Responsibilities- Analyze and improve operational workflows to increase productivity, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency.
- Evaluate current processes related to equipment acquisition, inspection, refurbishment, inventory management, and distribution.
- Design and implement process improvements that enhance quality, safety, and operational performance.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning for warehouse and refurbishment operations.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, warehouse, logistics, and service teams to streamline business operations.
- Assist with facility layout planning to improve material flow and warehouse utilization.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports on operational performance.
- Recommend automation opportunities and technology solutions that improve productivity.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cost reduction efforts through process optimization and resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and applicable industry regulations.
- Assist in equipment inspections and technical evaluations when needed.
- Perform additional engineering and operational projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of industrial engineering, manufacturing, logistics, or process improvement experience preferred.
- Experience with warehouse operations, manufacturing environments, or industrial processing equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
- Experience with ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and process flow diagrams.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
- Experience working with industrial processing equipment or capital equipment.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or facility layout software.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and industrial workplace regulations.
