    Overview

    We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and control systems throughout a high-volume industrial processing facility.

    The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can diagnose electrical problems efficiently, work safely around high-voltage equipment, and take ownership of equipment reliability.

    What We''re Looking For

    We are looking for an electrician who:

    • Can troubleshoot instead of simply replacing parts.
    • Takes ownership of equipment problems from diagnosis through repair.
    • Understands the difference between a temporary fix and a permanent corrective action.
    • Is comfortable working independently without constant supervision.
    • Communicates clearly with operators, maintenance personnel, and management.
    • Takes safety seriously and follows proper electrical safety and LOTO procedures.
    • Is willing to learn new equipment and technologies.
    • Looks for ways to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Troubleshoot and repair 480V three-phase electrical systems, motor circuits, control circuits, and distribution equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair AC and DC motors, VFDs, motor starters, contactors, overloads, and control transformers.
    • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, proximity switches, photoeyes, encoders, and other industrial instrumentation.
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and equipment documentation.
    • Troubleshoot industrial control systems and communicate effectively with operations and maintenance personnel.
    • Perform preventive and predictive electrical maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, shredders, sorting equipment, pumps, fans, magnets, and other industrial machinery.
    • Install and modify electrical components, conduit, wiring, control panels, disconnects, and motor circuits.
    • Use electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
    • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
    • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous-improvement projects.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs.
    • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety requirements.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
    • Work effectively in a dusty, heavy-industrial environment with exposure to noise, vibration, heat, and moving equipment.

    Physical Requirements

    This position requires the ability to:

    • Stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Lift and carry electrical components and tools.
    • Work in confined spaces and elevated areas when required.
    • Climb ladders and stairs.
    • Work in environments with dust, heat, noise, vibration, and industrial machinery.
    • Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, gloves, and arc-rated electrical PPE as required.

    Qualifications

    • Journeyman Electrician license or industrial electrical certification.
    • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and PowerFlex VFDs.
    • Experience with Schneider, ABB, or other industrial drives.
    • Experience troubleshooting PLC I/O, Ethernet/IP, control networks, and industrial instrumentation.
    • Experience in recycling, automotive, manufacturing, material handling, shredding, or heavy industrial processing.
    • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
    • Welding/mechanical repair experience is a plus.
