As an Industrial Controls Reliability Electrician in the Louisville, KY area, you’ll join us full-time to safeguard uptime for PLC-controlled equipment. Your craft is rapid electrical diagnostics, precise repairs, and clear communication that brings lines back online—and keeps them there.
The Challenge
When an automated cell stops, you quickly triage: Is it logic, I/O, sensing, or field wiring? You validate with your meter, dive into RSLogix/Studio 5000 or TIA Portal, trace ladder logic, and verify the fix on the floor. You then convert the event into learning—updating documentation and PMs to prevent repeat failures.
Your Impact
- Lead troubleshooting on PLC-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), diagnosing faults in ladder logic, I/O modules, sensors, and cabling.
- Interpret electrical prints and control drawings to plan effective repairs and system updates.
- Execute preventive maintenance and close out work orders with an emphasis on electrical reliability.
- Perform daily inspections to surface issues early; respond decisively to emergency breakdowns.
- Support a variety of industrial machines; step into mechanical tasks when required, keeping electrical performance as the primary focus.
- Partner with production teams to restore operation quickly and communicate root causes and corrective actions.
Skills You’ll Use
- 3–5+ years in industrial maintenance as a maintenance electrician.
- Strong grasp of electrical systems, maintenance workflows, and industrial networking tools/standards.
- Fluency reading schematics/wiring diagrams and supporting basic pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Confidence using RSLogix/Studio 5000 and/or TIA Portal, along with a multimeter and related diagnostic tools.
Preferred Extras
- Two-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.
- Professional experience troubleshooting highly automated equipment.
