    About the Role

    Step onto the production floor and into a role where precision meets craftsmanship. As an Industrial Coatings Application Specialist, you’ll prepare and finish parts and assemblies through washing or media blasting, prime and apply coatings to spec, and verify every layer meets our quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with teammates to hit production targets while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety—including wearing and maintaining a cartridge-style respirator.

    A Day in the Life

    • Start by reviewing manufacturing instructions and blueprints to understand coating requirements, colors, and finish expectations.
    • Wash or media blast parts to achieve the specified surface profile and cleanliness.
    • Mix paints accurately according to product data sheets; set up spray equipment and perform test passes.
    • Apply primers and topcoats, then measure wet and dry film thickness to confirm compliance; double-check color and surface finish.
    • Inspect parts for defects, address touch-ups, and report any material or equipment inconsistencies.
    • Maintain spray guns and related equipment; clean booths and replace filters to keep airflow optimized.
    • Update chemical inventory counts, record labor hours and work order details, and complete equipment maintenance checklists.
    • Operate forklifts, jibs, and cranes safely to move workpieces through each stage.
    • Follow ISO standards, PPE requirements, and all company safety programs; contribute ideas to improve cost and quality.
    • Keep your area clean, organized, and audit-ready, and take on other duties as assigned.

    What You Bring

    • Strong work ethic, initiative, reliability, and a keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to self-prioritize and work independently or collaboratively as production needs shift.
    • Confident problem-solving and sound judgment; strong verbal communication.
    • Comfort with basic math, including ratios and volumes for accurate mixing.
    • Background in paint application, mixing, and chemical handling preferred.
    • Capability to wear a cartridge-style respirator for extended periods.

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or GED required; prior industrial painting experience preferred.
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

    Physical Demands

    • Standing or sitting for extended periods; frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.
    • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for inspection and equipment operation.
    • Must meet respirator requirements, including fit testing and pulmonary function testing; pass and maintain Respiratory Protection Physical, Fit Test, and Pulmonary Function Test.

    Mental Demands

    • Balance short-term throughput with long-term quality goals.
