Industrial Capital Projects Manager & Estimating Lead

A day in the life

Step onto a manufacturing site and take ownership of complex, non-residential industrial work—millwright, rigging, and mechanical scopes—while guiding estimates, schedules, and people to a profitable finish. You’ll toggle between field walks, deal-closing conversations, and detailed cost modeling that keeps margins healthy and clients confident.

What you’ll lead

• Full-cycle estimating for labor, manhours, equipment, and materials on new industrial construction projects.
• Project management from kickoff to closeout, ensuring scope clarity, schedule control, and budget discipline.
• Hiring and managing new team members to meet workload demands.
• Crafting clear, professional sales letters that align with client direction and eliminate scope misunderstandings.
• Closing sales with professionalism while safeguarding company margins.
• Submitting complete, accurate records to the Office Manager for financial system needs.
• Tracking all sales and projects to build a history useful to financial institutions and future customers.
• Preparing sales growth budgets that forecast in time horizons from at least 1 month up to 12 months.
• Driving business development to maintain a steady pipeline of qualified opportunities.
• Owning all outgoing correspondence—letters, forms, and information—to customers, vendors, and partners, ensuring professional presentation and factual accuracy that protects the client from potential litigation.

Experience we’re looking for

• 5+ years managing and estimating industrial construction projects for manufacturing facilities (non-residential), including millwright, rigging, and mechanical scopes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools—Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook email—and general computer literacy.
• Ability to walk active construction sites and remain on your feet for a full shift when required.
• Willingness to travel in and out of state to individual jobsites as needed.
• Team-first mindset and the ability to follow direction from current management.

Tools in your toolkit

• Bachelor’s degree; Engineering degree preferred.
• Industrial construction project management and estimating expertise.
• Troubleshooting and high-level operations analysis.
• Mechanical design/engineering; mechanical systems and component repair.
• Machine building and assembly; production optimization.
• Electrical/electronic systems and industrial electrical experience.
• Maintenance and repair skills; operational risk management.

Compensation & growth

• Starting salary: $90K – $100K in year one.
• Annual increases based on performance.
• Opportunity for up to 5% commission for profitable sales exceeding $1.5M per year.
• Bring your own transportation during a 90-day evaluation period; after, a company vehicle and fuel card may be provided.

Travel & site demands

Expect periodic travel to project locations, site walks in active industrial environments, and hands-on coordination with field teams and vendors.
