Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical & Automation Maintenance Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of process equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical control panels, automation systems, industrial machinery, and process equipment while ensuring reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with electrical, automation, controls, and mechanical systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, VFDs, and control circuits, and be able to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical and automation equipment.
  • Install and wire electrical control panels, automation systems, instruments, and related electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, VFDs, control circuits, and industrial automation systems.
  • Diagnose and repair automation systems, process equipment, industrial machinery, and associated electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs and programmable controllers such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar platforms.
  • Configure and troubleshoot HMIs and process-control interfaces.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, equipment drawings, and process-control documentation.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and improve reliability.
  • Inspect equipment for unsafe, abnormal, worn, or malfunctioning conditions and initiate corrective actions.
  • Test repaired or modified equipment to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and troubleshooting documentation using CMMS Maximo and equipment logbooks.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and internal departments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other employees as needed.
  • Support emergency maintenance activities and other duties assigned to meet business needs.
Work Environment
  • This position operates in an industrial / manufacturing environment and may require interaction with process equipment, automation systems, electrical panels, facility systems, and production support areas.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment with both independent and team-based responsibilities.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in an industrial, manufacturing, facilities, electrical, automation, or equipment-maintenance environment preferred.
  • Experience installing, wiring, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical and control systems preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, VFDs, and industrial automation systems preferred.
  • Equipment-maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, automation, controls, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to identify root causes and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Familiarity with cGMP facility operations and compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CMMS applications, mobile devices, and automation interfaces.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, respirator use, and safe work practices.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work in lab, manufacturing, or warehouse environments, including walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and hours as needed, with occasional local travel.
