Position Summary
This is a full-time hybrid position based in Portland, Oregon.  The Individual & Medicare Sales Coordinator serves as a key administrative and operational resource for Moda Health's Individual, Medical, Dental, and Medicare Supplement lines of business. This position provides coordination and support for enrollment activities, member communications, reporting, event planning, and departmental projects while assisting the Individual and Medicare Supplement Sales Executives. Through effective organization, communication, and process management, this role helps ensure a high-quality member experience, supports departmental objectives, and promotes efficient business operations across all states in which Moda Health operates. The objective of this role is to contribute to the financial and membership growth of Moda Health and its affiliates.

Pay Range
$23.34 - $26.26 hourly (depending on experience)
*Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

  1. College degree preferred, or 2 years’ experience in health insurance, employee benefits/administration, or sales and account management.
  2. Maintain a valid driver’s license. Ability to travel on business and overnight as needed.
  3. Ability to handle a pushcart/hand truck and ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs. in and out the trunk of a car.
  4. Strong sales and presentation skills required.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  5. Knowledge of medical, pharmacy and dental insurance business as it relates to contracts, state, and federal law.
  6. Knowledge of systems regarding enrollment and eligibility, processing of claims, handling of billings, customer service, and related information.
  7. Knowledge of competitive landscape, market position and plan differentiators each year as the landscape changes.
  8. Consultative approach to developing a long-term relationship with brokers and customers. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and brokers related to the provision of services designed to retain existing membership and sell new business.
  9. Ability to be a self-motivator and work independently with little supervision.
  10.  Presents a positive and professional image in the communities we serve.

 

Primary Functions:

  1. Manage the Individual & Medicare ring group voicemail line, ensuring messages are reviewed, documented, and routed to the appropriate departments for timely resolution and follow-up.
  2. Support the Individual and Medicare Supplement Sales Executives with administrative tasks, requests, and projects.
  3. Assessclientneeds,recommendsuitableModaplans, and process enrollmentapplicationsforIndividualandMedicareproducts.
  4. Fulfillsupplyrequestsforallproductlines acrossallstates.
  5. Manage theInternalSalesinbox and voicemail follow-upsinatimelymanner.
  6. Provide back-up totheSales&AccountServicesdepartment,includingcross-sellingofIndividualandMedicareproducts.
  7. Participatein initiatives to improve the Individual andMedicare Supplement member experience.
  8. Review incomplete web enrollment applications and conductoutreachtomembers.
  9. RepresentModabenefitandwellnessfairs,trainings,producerandMedicare certification events, community educations, and brand awareness events.
  10. Createpresentations,organizemeetings,andcoordinateeventsincluding handouts, slides, and packets;track attendance, establish follow-up processes, and report results.
  11. Otherdutiesasassigned.



Working Conditions & Contact with Others

  • Office environment with extensive PC and keyboard work, constant sitting, and phone work. Must be able to navigate multiple screens. Work in excess of 40 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business need during peak times such as annual and open enrollment (October through February). Pre-scheduled work hours are set due to business need.  (core hours 8:00am to 5:00pm PST)
  • Internally with multiple departments and externally with customers.
