TITLE: Individual Giving Manager

LOCATION: Hybrid

HOURS: 25/week (average)

PAY: $45,550 (equivalent of $35/hr, non-negotiable)

START DATE: First week of October 2026

POSITION SUMMARY

BRAVO is in an exciting place of growth as we strengthen existing programs while also building new ones. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to work with our existing development team that includes the Executive Director, Director of Operations, Community Engagement Manager, and Grant Writer. This new hire will work with a robust community of existing supporters while also working to establish new ones. BRAVO's annual budget is approximately $1M. BRAVO utilizes GiveButter Plus as its CRM and fundraising platform. Knowledge of GiveButter is not required, but experience using fundraising software is.

The IGM will manage all development activities related to annual giving, major gifts, donor management and cultivation. Plan and achieve the fundraising goals of the organization alongside the BRAVO development team.

This flexible, part-time position is perfect for the seasoned fundraiser that is looking to be part of a beloved and supportive community but is not looking for full-time hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Relations

  • Manage a comprehensive program of identification, introduction, cultivation and retention of donors
  • Nurture existing and prospective donor relationships
  • Coordinate the timely processing and acknowledgement of all gifts
  • Maintain a high level of engagement and professionalism, working towards exceeding the expectations of individual donors
  • Supervise the appropriate use of donor software and reporting, ensuring donor privacy, data accuracy and timeliness of reporting
  • Represent BRAVO in the community at events and conferences as appropriate

Fundraising Strategy, Implementation and Policies

  • Plan, create and execute all fundraising activities including:
  • Individual Major Gifts, in partnership with the Executive Director
  • Individual direct mail campaigns, including annual campaign fund
  • Establish development policies, systems, and procedures for soliciting, tracking and reporting gifts
  • Create annual and long-term strategic development plans in partnership with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director
  • In partnership with the Executive Director and Finance Director, develop and manage the individual giving revenue and expense budgets and forecasts

Event Planning and Management

  • Work closely with the BRAVO team to plan, lead and execute fundraising, recognition and donor cultivation events
  • This typically includes one major benefit concert annually each spring, with 3-5 smaller additional events for fundraising or donor cultivation
  • May also include fundraising initiatives in support of specific BRAVO programs
  • Develop and adhere to an annual calendar of events in coordination with other non-fundraising organizational events

Communications

  • Work with the Community Engagement Manager to deliver timely information to donors

Leadership

  • Support the board of directors in their individual development and donor cultivation functions and goals
  • Serve on the BRAVO leadership team and attend all necessary internal meetings
  • Establish effective working relationships with other program managers and directors
  • Realize that the organization's culture is sculpted by the humans that are a part of the organization, and as a leader, there is a higher threshold as an organizational "culture carrier"

Internal and external meetings

  • Hold effective 1:1s using a consistent model, including outcomes and documentation
  • Participate in all development-related meetings on a consistent cadence to ensure appropriate conveyance and reception of information
  • Attend external meetings that will impact organizational and program goals or in support of individuals
  • Maintain appropriate documentation to track followup and shared understandings about expectations, goals, priorities and desired outcomes
  • Participate in staff trainings

AS NEEDED TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As determined by Executive Director

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in direct donor engagement
  • Comfortable asking donors for financial gifts
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Experience with CRM/Donor Cultivation software (BRAVO uses GiveButter Plus). BRAVO also uses Google Workspace email, document storage, and office applications.
  • Experience with both small and large cultivation and fundraising events
  • Access to reliable transportation both in the Portland Metro area and beyond
  • Knowledge of orchestral music and education useful but not required
  • The IGM should be attuned to the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice (DEIJ) components of this role. HOURS & PAY

  • Salary of $45,500/year. (budgeted. non-negotiable)
  • Approximately 25 hours per week. (Possibility of more hours in future years)
  • Typically Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. Specific days/hours to be set in agreement with the Executive Director. Additional attendance required at BRAVO events and performances on evenings and weekends. Ability to work in the office and remote.

  • All employees may participate in BRAVO's retirement plan after three months of employment. BRAVO will match your contribution up to 2% of your pay.
