Individual Giving Manager

Job Location: Berkeley, California

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Pay Rate: $42-$42.31/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm

Description of Position:
Do you have experience building relationships with donors, clients, or other external partners? Our client is seeking an Individual Giving Manager to help grow its individual giving program, with a focus on mid-level donors, major donors, and emerging major gift prospects.

This role manages a portfolio of donors and prospects and builds meaningful relationships through personalized outreach, meetings, events, site visits, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Individual Giving Manager will help identify opportunities to deepen donor engagement, increase giving, and develop a strong pipeline of future major donors.

Working closely with the Chief of Philanthropy & Eternal Affairs, CEO, Board members, and Philanthropy team, this position plays an important role in growing individual philanthropic revenue and strengthening long term donor relationships.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful, proactive relationship-builder who enjoys connecting with people, is comfortable asking for financial support, and is excited to continue developing their fundraising skills.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, major donors, and prospective individual donors
  • Build relationships through meetings, calls, site visits, tours, events, and personalized outreach
  • Work with the Development Associate on donor research, prospect profiles, and stewardship activities
  • Partner with program and leadership staff to understand organizational priorities, impact, and donor engagement opportunities
  • Track donor activity, meetings, solicitations, gifts, and follow up in Salesforce
  • Consistent progress toward individual giving and portfolio revenue goals
  • Clear and consistent follow-up with donors and prospects

Description of Company:
You will be supporting a nonprofit organization in Berkeley, California.

Experience Required:
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit development, sales, relationship management, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience cultivating, soliciting, or stewarding donors, clients, or other external relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Comfortable meeting directly with donors and prospects and asking for financial support
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to independently manage a portfolio of relationships and consistently follow through on next steps
  • Experience using a CRM to manage relationships and track activity; Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues, executive leadership, and Board members.
