About Mims Financial Services, LLC

Mims Financial Services, LLC helps individuals and families explore life insurance and related financial protection solutions based on their needs and goals. We provide agents with access to contracted insurance carriers, training, mentorship, and administrative resources to support their professional development and insurance business.

We are seeking motivated, client-focused individuals with sales or insurance experience who are ready to strengthen their production, deepen client relationships, and continue developing their insurance knowledge. This opportunity is suited to someone who can work independently, communicate confidently with clients, and manage the steps involved in the insurance sales process.

About the Opportunity

As a mid-level Life Insurance Sales Consultant, you will work with individuals and families to understand their financial protection priorities, explain relevant insurance options, and guide them through the application process. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, maintaining consistent follow-up, and developing your own book of business.

This remote opportunity offers independence and access to agency resources, training, and mentorship. It is a performance-based independent-contractor position, so candidates should be comfortable managing their own work and understand that compensation depends on results rather than hours worked.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client consultations to understand financial protection needs, priorities, and goals.
  • Explain applicable insurance products, policy features, and coverage options in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Help clients compare suitable options based on their circumstances, eligibility, and needs.
  • Manage client communications and follow up on applications, underwriting requirements, and policy placement.
  • Maintain organized client records and track activity throughout the sales process.
  • Develop long-term client relationships through professional communication and ongoing service.
  • Monitor personal sales activity and identify opportunities to improve client engagement and business performance.
  • Stay informed about relevant product information, carrier requirements, and industry developments.
  • Participate in available training and professional development opportunities.
  • Follow applicable insurance laws, carrier guidelines, ethical standards, and client privacy requirements.

Insurance Products

Depending on client needs, licensing, suitability, and carrier availability, agents may work with products such as:

  • Life insurance
  • Mortgage protection
  • Final expense insurance
  • Indexed Universal Life (IUL) insurance
  • Annuities, where appropriately licensed and authorized

Product availability, eligibility, and suitability vary by carrier and individual circumstances.

Training and Support

Mims Financial Services, LLC provides access to resources intended to help agents strengthen their knowledge, refine their sales process, and support their ongoing development, including:

  • Product and sales training
  • Mentorship and professional guidance
  • Access to contracted insurance carriers and available product information
  • Administrative resources to assist with applications and policy placement

Agents are responsible for meeting applicable licensing requirements before conducting activities that require a license.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, client relationship management, insurance, or another customer-facing role.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand client needs and explain products clearly and responsibly.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline and maintain accurate client records.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment.
  • Professional judgment and a commitment to ethical, client-focused sales practices.
  • An active, appropriate insurance license, or willingness to obtain the required license before performing regulated activities.

Life insurance sales experience is beneficial. Candidates with a strong sales background in another industry may also be a good fit.

Compensation Disclosure

This is a 1099 independent-contractor position compensated entirely through commissions. There is no base salary, hourly wage, or guaranteed minimum income. Earnings are not guaranteed and depend on individual sales production and the terms of the applicable written compensation agreements.

Depending on the applicable contract, compensation may include commissions, renewals, bonuses, or other specified components. Commission advances, where offered, are subject to the applicable agreement and may be recoverable. Commission reversals or chargebacks may apply to certain policies.

As an independent contractor, you are responsible for understanding your contractual obligations and any applicable business expenses, taxes, licensing costs, and other costs associated with your practice.

Work Environment

This is a remote opportunity that offers flexibility in organizing your work, subject to client needs, carrier requirements, licensing obligations, and contractual responsibilities. Some client appointments may require evening or weekend availability.

Who Should Apply?

This opportunity may suit someone who has developed foundational sales skills and is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships, sales activity, and business development. Successful candidates should be self-directed, comfortable with performance-based compensation, and committed to building a sustainable insurance sales practice through professional, client-focused service.

If you have sales experience and are ready to continue developing your insurance expertise while helping individuals and families explore financial protection options, we invite you to apply.
