    Overview

    This is a limited-duration role, available October 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

    The Income Auditor safeguards the accuracy and integrity of the hotel's daily revenue. This role reviews financial activity from all operating departments, reconciles revenue and payment records across hotel systems, identifies and resolves discrepancies, and produces timely reports for leadership. The position works closely with Finance, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Reservations, Sales, and other departments to support sound internal controls and accurate financial reporting.

    Responsibilities
    • Audit daily hotel revenue and transactions for multiple departments
    • Reconcile the property-management system (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) system, credit card settlements, cash activity, direct billing, deposits, and supporting reports
    • Verify room revenue, occupancy, average daily rate, packages, taxes, service charges, gratuities, discounts, complimentary transactions, paid-outs, allowances, rebates, refunds, voids, and adjustments
    • Review night-audit reports and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, appropriate authorization, and compliance with established procedures
    • Research out-of-balance items and unusual transactions; communicate discrepancies promptly and follow through until they are resolved and documented.
    • Maintain organized electronic and paper audit records in accordance with hotel, management-company, brand, legal, and record-retention requirements
    • Protect confidential guest, team member, payment-card, and financial information; follow PCI-DSS and access-control requirements
    • Prepare and distribute the daily revenue report, exception reports, and other scheduled financial reports accurately and on time
    • Verify cash deposits and deposit documentation; promptly report missing, late, or inconsistent deposits
    • Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations, schedules, accrual support, inventory verification, and audit documentation
    • Assist with internal and external audit requests and correcting control or documentation deficiencies
    • Partner professionally with department leaders to clarify transactions, correct posting practices, and strengthen financial controls
    • Attend required meetings and training and maintain current knowledge of hotel systems, policies, brand standards, and accounting procedures
    • Provide backup support within the Finance department and perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the purpose of the position

    Qualifications

    Required
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • At least five years of hotel accounting, income-audit, or closely related experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
    • Prior income-audit experience in a full-service hotel
    • Strong numerical accuracy, analytical ability, organization, and attention to detail
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, email, and standard office technology
