SUMMARY
The Inclusion Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instruction in their endorsed core content area within an inclusive educational setting while serving as the special education case manager for assigned students. The teacher delivers standards-based instruction to diverse learners, collaborates with general education staff to implement specially designed instruction and accommodations, and ensures students have meaningful access to the general education curriculum.
As the case manager for assigned students, the Inclusion Teacher develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), leads IEP team meetings, monitors student progress toward IEP goals, coordinates services, maintains required documentation, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements. The teacher partners with families, colleagues, and related service providers to support student success in the least restrictive environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Special Education, plus an additional endorsement in a core content area.
The additional core content area must include one or more of the following, ELA, Social Studies, or Spanish.
Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance.
Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility.
Proof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later).
I-9 Employment Eligibility.
Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands and working conditions for this role require the ability to perform essential job functions, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. Duties may involve varying levels of activity-from seldom to frequent-including lifting up to 30 pounds (and occasionally assisting with loads over 50 pounds), carrying lighter items, and performing movements such as twisting, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. The position also involves periods of sitting, standing, and walking, along with repetitive keyboard use and extended computer screen viewing. Employees may be exposed to human-borne pathogens, noise, and outdoor elements, and may occasionally be required to work after hours.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year are determined by the negotiated agreement and the needs of the District.
Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences. The successful candidate for this position must complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.
