Department: Programs / Community Care\n \nClassification: Full-Time, Exempt (37.5 hours/week)\n \nReports To: Senior Program Director\n \nSalary Range: $70,304 - $80,000\n \nPosition Summary\n \nThe Inclusion & Community Care Manager advances The J Los Angeles' commitment to inclusive, supportive, and community-centered programming by providing neurodiversityand mental health-informed guidance, resources, and direct support to participants, families, and staff across early childhood, youth, teen, and family programs. This role operates as both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner, developing and implementing individualized care plans, strengthening staff capacity through coaching and training, and partnering with external providers to ensure continuity of care. Grounded in organizational values, the position integrates social-emotional learning, mental health best practices, and community care frameworks into program delivery to ensure allparticipants are meaningfully included and supported to thrive.\n \nIn practice, the role conducts participant intakes and assessments, develops and documents individualized support plans, and provides direct behavioral and socialemotional support across programs. The Manager partners closely with families to navigate resources, coordinate with external service providers, and maintain alignment between home, school, and care systems. The position collaborates cross-functionally with all program staff to embed inclusive practices, offers real-time consultation and coaching, and contributes to program planning and evaluation. Additionally, the role supports seasonal programming as a Camper Care Specialist, providing onsite support and implementing strategies to enhance participant success and staff effectiveness.\n \nEssential Functions\n \nSupporting Day Camp Programs with the following (35%):\n \nTraining, Education & Capacity Building\n \nDesign and facilitate training workshops for staff, families, and participants on mental health, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices.\n \nDevelop tools, resources, and guides to strengthen staff capacity in supporting diverse participant needs.\n \nProvide ongoing coaching and follow-up support to reinforce training outcomes.\n \nProgram Development & Community Programming\n \nDesign and implement community-based programs aligned with inclusion and mental health needs (e.g., Baby & Me programming).\n \nSupport and contribute to family and community engagement initiatives, including JCelebrates events and holiday programming.\n \nContribute to curriculum development and instruction within JExplorers and other youth leadership programs.\n \nPartnerships & External Resource Coordination\n \nBuild and maintain relationships with external service providers, agencies, and community partners.\n \nCoordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care across internal and external services.\n \nCollaborate with partner organizations to expand access to resources and support services.\n \nGrant Compliance & Program Administration\n \nEnsure compliance with grant requirements, including documentation, reporting, and program deliverables.\n \nTrack and report on program outcomes related to inclusion and community care initiatives.\n \nMaintain organized records and ensure confidentiality of participant information in alignment with applicable laws and best practices.\n \nSupporting the Early Childhood Center (ECC) with the following (65%):\n \nSocial-Emotional Learning & Mindfulness Instruction\n \nDesign and lead weekly, developmentally appropriate social-emotional learning (SEL) and mindfulness lessons for children (infant through age 5).\n \nUtilize evidence-based practices to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, peer interaction, and early coping skills, while adapting content to meet diverse developmental and neurodiverse needs.\n \nCollaborate with teaching staff to reinforce SEL concepts within daily classroom routines and transitions.\n \nFamily Partnership & Care Coordination\n \nPartner proactively with families of preschool-aged children with identified developmental, behavioral, or social-emotional needs, including those receiving external therapies (e.g., speech, occupational, behavioral services).\n \nCoordinate scheduling and communication between families, therapists, and teachers, and program staff to ensure continuity of care.\n \nProvide guidance, resources, and progress updates to families, supporting alignment between home, school, and external service providers.\n \nClassroom Consultation & Behavioral Support\n \nProvide real-time and ongoing support to classroom teachers in managing challenging behaviors and implementing inclusive practices. \n \nOffer coaching on behavior management strategies, co-regulation techniques, and developmentally appropriate interventions.\n \nModel effective approaches in the classroom as needed and assist in developing individualized strategies or support plans. Participate in parent-teacher conferences upon request to provide professional insight, reinforce strategies, and support collaborative problem-solving.\n \nParent Education & Community Engagement\n \nPlan, facilitate, and evaluate bi-monthly "Schmooze with the Social Worker" sessions for families, focusing on relevant topics such as child development, behavior, emotional regulation, parenting strategies, and mental health. \n \nCreate a welcoming, accessible environment that encourages parent engagement, peer connection, and community building.\n \nAdapt topics based on emerging community needs and provide practical tools and resources for families to implement at home\n \nMinimum Qualifications:\n \nRequired Qualifications\n \nGraduate-level degree in a mental health-related field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related discipline).\n \nPost-graduate professional experience in a related field.\n \nMinimum of 4 years' experience working with children, youth, and families in a clinical, educational, or community-based setting.\n \nStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse populations.\n \nDemonstrated ability to provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff.\n \nKnowledge of community resources, referral systems, and care coordination practices.\n \nPreferred Qualifications\n \nExperience in nonprofit, educational, or community-based organizations.\n \nFamiliarity with early childhood development and youth programming.\n \nExperience designing and facilitating trainings or workshops.\n \nUnderstanding of Jewish values, traditions, and community-based programming.\n \nBilingual or multilingual capabilities (preferred but not required).\n \nCore Competencies\n \nEmpathy & Compassion\n \nCultural Humility & Inclusion\n \nCommunication & Collaboration\n \nStrategic Thinking & Problem-Solving\n \nAdaptability & Emotional Intelligence\n \nProgram Development & Facilitation\n\n
