SUBJECT: Inclusion & Success Gaps Steering Committee - School Year 2026-2027
Funding is available for a district-wide team of staff and administrators to serve on the combined Inclusion & Success Gaps Steering Committee for the 2026-2027 school year. Building on one year of work by the Elementary Inclusion Steering Committee and two years of work on the Root Cause Analysis Steering Committee: Addressing Success Gaps for Students with Disabilities, this committee/working group will continue the district''s effort to reimagine how special education and inclusive services are delivered across all grade levels, and to close success gaps for students with disabilities. Brockton Public Schools remains committed to taking ambitious steps to increase equitable access to high-quality, inclusive education; decrease the success gap(s) of students with disabilities; increase the four-year graduation rate of students with disabilities; and grow the number of students with disabilities pursuing additional learning opportunities. The committee will bring together a diverse group of PreK-12 stakeholders. Committee members will participate in one of three focused working groups designed to advance inclusive practices and improve academic and postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities. Each working group will establish measurable goals, identify action steps, review relevant student and program data, and develop tangible work products that can be implemented across the district. Each working group will be expected to move from data review and problem identification to recommendation and implementation planning. Throughout the year, groups will establish benchmarks, solicit feedback from relevant stakeholders, pilot or review proposed practices when appropriate, and present final recommendations and work products to district leadership. The goal of the committee''s work is to develop sustainable practices and usable district resources that strengthen inclusive programming, improve instructional outcomes, and increase access, engagement, and success for students with disabilities.
