If so, Nexus Employment is hiring an In‑Process Quality Control Specialist for a food manufacturing facility in the Skokie/Niles, IL area. This is a full-time, third-shift role with weekly pay at $21/hr.
What you’ll do (bullet-point simple)
- Guard the floor: monitor food safety, product quality, and GMP practices.
- Inspect as you go: perform in-process quality checks on each production line every shift.
- Verify the details: review production paperwork, retain samples, lot/code dates, weights, label accuracy, and metal detector records.
- Trust but verify: run scale checks and audit metal detectors.
- Act fast: place materials on hold when quality or safety issues are found.
- Prove the change: validate changeovers; conduct ATP and environmental swabbing.
- Control risks: complete allergen audits; check for glass, brittle plastic, magnets, and metal detection effectiveness.
- Stay stocked: prepare retain samples and manage QA supply inventory.
- Keep it compliant: monitor GMPs, report issues, and conduct internal plant audits.
- Document everything: maintain thorough QA records.
- Drive fixes: generate maintenance work requests and coach new QA teammates.
- Own the call: escalate serious concerns and shut down production when needed.
- Pitch in: handle other QA tasks as assigned.
