With an experienced team and a commitment to excellence, we offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients in the rail transportation industry. Position SummaryThe In-Plant Lead Technician directs daily operations of assigned technicians while ensuring railcar inspections and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with AAR, FRA, customer, and company standards.Leadership & SupervisionProvide daily direction and assign work to technicians.Train, coach, and mentor technicians.Monitor productivity, quality, and attendance.Report performance concerns to the In-Plant Manager.OperationsPerform and verify railcar inspections and repairs.Review repair documentation for accuracy.Coordinate manpower, materials, and tooling.Ensure work complies with AAR, FRA, M-1003, customer, and company requirements.Administrative & Computer ResponsibilitiesComplete and review reports, work orders, labor entries, inspections, and customer documentation.Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with company software systems to manage reporting, communication, scheduling, and operational records.Maintain accurate electronic records and communicate professionally through email and other business applications.Customer & Safety ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary day-to-day customer contact.Lead safety meetings and enforce safe work practices.Ensure technicians comply with company and customer safety requirements.Required QualificationsMinimum three years of railcar or related mechanical experience.Leadership experience preferred.Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.Pass pre-employment drug screening and required company drug and alcohol testing.Pass required background screenings.Why Join Us?Health, Dental, Life, and Vision BenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday Pay401K on Day 1 with Company Match!Bonus Program based on Efficiencies, Quality, Safety, and Customer SatisfactionTravel reimbursements and more!
