Job Description:
All About Home Care, Inc. is a 5-star CMS rated skilled home health company that provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, home health aides and medical social workers. We are currently seeking an in-office Medical Records Clerk in the Greater Houston area to support our team in delivering quality care and services to our patients.
Qualifications:
- Home Health Office Experience preferred
- Wellsky/ Kinnser Software Experience preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred
- A high school graduate, with 0-1 year experience in an Skilled Home Health office setting
- Must be able to type and be computer literate
- Must be organized and task focused
Responsibilities:
- Conducts self in a professional and courteous manner
- Serves as receptionist and permits only authorized personnel beyond reception area
- Responsible for answering the telephone and receiving messages in a pleasant and professional manner
- Receives and submits faxed information
- Ensures confidentiality of all Protected Health Information
- Ensures faxed information is submitted to the appropriate person
- Assist in the production and completion of requested documents including plans of care and other documents as requested
- Ensures all documents produced are grammatically correct and spelled correctly
- Ensures all office equipment is working and maintained
- Updating hospital logs
May assist with the following duties:
- Check eligibility for patients
- Assist in performing coordination with other providers, patient, and family members
- Enter patient data
- Schedule visits in Kinnser Software
- Assist in submitting authorization requests
- Prepare marketing and admission materials
- Perform patient status requests for hospitalized patients
- Direct phone calls and faxes to correct people/departments
- Assist with any other task office manger requests your assist with.
- Check for HMO on first of the month for all patients
- Add all new physician information into system after collecting NPI and other information
- Other duties may be assigned
