    Business Analyst Opportunity in Indianapolis, IN

    Join the Indiana Department of Health's Office of Data and Analytics (ODA) as a Business Analyst! We are seeking a talented individual to support our Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) initiatives. This role involves business analysis, data governance, documentation, work management, and stakeholder coordination.     Responsibilities

    • Translate business needs into actionable requirements and support data mapping, metadata, lineage, data-quality, and governance activities.
    • Improve portfolio visibility through accurate work tracking, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
    • Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams for PHIG-related data, analytics, reporting, infrastructure, and operational initiatives.
    • Gather, analyze, document, validate, and manage business and data requirements.
    • Facilitate alignment across stakeholders and maintain documentation and work-management artifacts.
    • Support PHIG portfolio and business operations, data mapping, and governance.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Analytics, Programming, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
    • 2 years of relevant business analyst and/or project management experience.
    • Experience in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements and use cases.
    • Ability to support grant-funded initiatives by maintaining organized, accurate, and timely project documentation.
    • Excellent critical thinking, time management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a professional setting.

    Preferences

    • Familiarity with Informatica platforms including Enterprise Data Catalog.
    • Experience in leading workshops or training sessions with a user community.
    • Experience supporting federally funded, grant-funded, or other externally funded initiatives with defined deliverables, reporting requirements.
    • Experience supporting cross-agency, cross-sector, vendor-supported, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
    • Experience with data lineage tools and methods.
    • Experience with rural health, public health, healthcare, or health equity domain knowledge.
