Mathew Enterprise, Inc. is looking for an individual to be General Counsel for a growing 500 person organization. You will work closely with the President, COO, and Director of HR in a fast-paced environment that is both collaborative and autonomous.
How You’ll Contribute:
- Manage agreements from start to finish, including drafting and negotiation. Ensure that agreements are timely reviewed and handled, and all agreements are accurately maintained.
- Provide accurate, relevant and timely advice to the President, COO, and other members of the organization regarding a variety of legal topics.
- Manage all litigation from initial demand letter through discovery and trial.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Automotive industry
- Promote legal, compliance, and risk management best practice throughout the company
- Communicate with and manage any third-party bodies such as outside counsel or auditors
Requirements:
- J.D. from accredited law school and actively licensed to practice in California
- 3+ years of work experience with either law firm or in-house experience
- Strong business-oriented judgment with the ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, and provide advice that is creative, practical, and in balance with the needs and objectives of the business
- Proven track record in leading deal negotiation, as well as litigation experience, with the ability to incorporate the needs of business into a cohesive strategy
- High integrity and excellent judgment. Detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- A clear communicator with the ability to distill complex issues in a simple manner
