Every roof we sell protects a family. That's the job, whether you're standing in someone's living room walking them through why their 25-year-old roof has started to leak or helping them plan the siding upgrade they've wanted for years. Homeowners invite you into their home because they trust you to get it right. Sexton has built its name in this valley since 1985 on doing exactly that.
We generate the leads. You walk in already trusted, already expected, with a real conversation ahead of you instead of a cold door. Your job is to listen, diagnose the actual need, and present a solution the homeowner feels good about saying yes to. From the moment the lead is assigned to you through signed contract, the sale is yours to own.
This role is for someone who wants their paycheck to reflect their effort, not their seniority. Base salary plus uncapped commission means there's no ceiling on what you can earn here, and a clear path to Sales Team Lead for reps who want to grow into leadership.
HOW WE WORK
We hire for our values first. Sales technique can be taught. Character can't. These five values shape how we sell, how we treat homeowners, and how we work with each other:
- Do the Right Thing Always: Integrity isn't a policy. It's the standard. We recommend what the homeowner actually needs, even when it's the smaller sale.
- Build Meaningful Connection: With customers, with the community, with each other. Homeowners buy from people they trust.
- Improve Yourself and Those Around You: We invest in our people and expect them to grow. The best reps here are always learning.
- Embody Empowered Responsibility: Own your work. Own the outcome. Your pipeline, your numbers, and your homeowners are yours.
- Proactively Communicate: Say it before it becomes a problem. With homeowners, production, and your team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In-Home Sales- Run in-home sales appointments for roofing, siding, gutter, and window projects, diagnosing the homeowner's needs and building a solution around them.
- Inspect the roof, attic, and exterior so every proposal starts with accurate information.
- Build and present clear proposals with scope, pricing, and timeline.
- Handle objections and price conversations with composure. Hold the value of the work without being pushy.
Lead Generation- Work every company-generated lead promptly and follow up until it reaches a clear yes or no.
- Supplement company leads with your own referrals, networking, and door-to-door canvassing.
- Ask every happy homeowner for reviews and referrals.
Pipeline & Handoff- Keep your pipeline current in the CRM, including notes, photos, proposals, and next steps.
- Hand off closed projects to production cleanly, with accurate scope and homeowner expectations documented.
- Stay in touch with the homeowner through production so the experience feels seamless from sale to close-out. Complete a final walkthrough upon project completion.
Growth- Track your own numbers, including close rate, average ticket, and same-day closes, and push to beat them.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings, ride-alongs, and one-on-ones with your team lead.
- Keep your product knowledge current through ongoing training on materials, systems, and sales technique.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORRequired- Proven track record in sales, or college or military experience that shows drive and discipline.
- Comfortable presenting price and closing in person, not just generating interest.
- Working knowledge of roofing and siding terminology, materials, and basic construction processes, or the ability to learn it fast.
- Direct communicator. You can explain a technical scope to a homeowner in plain language.
- Coachable. You want feedback and you act on it.
- Available evenings and Saturdays as needed, based on homeowner availability.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Comfortable with a performance-based compensation structure (base + commission).
Preferred- Sales experience in roofing, siding, solar, or another home improvement trade.
- Experience with a CRM or other industry software.
- Comfortable getting on a roof and in an attic to inspect.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITSCompensation is competitive and structured to reward your effort:
- Base Salary: Paid as a W-2 employee.
- Uncapped Commission: Earned on every project you sell, with no ceiling.
- Bonus Opportunities: Additional incentives for performance and self-generated leads.
Benefits include:
- Company-generated and pre-qualified appointments provided.
- Company truck.
- Flexible schedule built around homeowner appointments.
- Medical insurance with company contribution.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Paid training on our sales process, products, and systems.
- Leadership training and a clear path to Sales Team Lead.
