Description

Summary The Improvement Technician is a member of the Autonomous Core Team who provides crew support in plant processes under the direction of the Process Manager to implement improvements that ensure value stream objectives are met and improve human performance, process performance, food safety, human safety, environmental, and sanitation performance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Demonstrate a daily commitment to the continuous improvement process by following Lean Manufacturing principles and the Basic Principles. Responsible for tracking, coordinating, building (within ability), scheduling, and implementing employee suggestions as they are prioritized through the Rapid Improvement Board approval process. This responsibility includes the capturing of implemented suggestions for later reference of quantity and general concept.Responsible, as a core member of the Autonomous Team, to assist with investigations, problem solving efforts, improvement events, safety events, Quality Hazard Analysis reviews, implementing/improving preventative maintenance methods, and all planning activities. Duties do not include performing/completing preventative maintenance work as part of the regular job function; only when assigned as a singular and unique action by the Process Manager.Responsible for attending Tier 1 & Tier 2 level meetings and completing actions assigned therein. Also responsible for attending improvement meetings for all teams/processes assigned to the incumbent's supervising Process Manager.Must maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of "What We Stand For" and "The Basic Principles."Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable, data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies. Regularly complete behavior based safety observations. Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences and vacanciesAll employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF 2000.All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality or plant security issues to management for appropriate action Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties satisfactorily.
