About the Role:Landstar Logistics Agent is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Import Manager to join our team in Wheaton, IL. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of international supply chain operations and play a key role in keeping our global business moving. Responsibilities:- Oversee and manage all import operations, including shipment tracking, customs clearance, and delivery coordination
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, trade laws, and import/export documentation requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international suppliers
- Review and process import documentation including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists
- Monitor and manage import costs, identifying opportunities to reduce freight and duty expenses
- Coordinate with internal teams including purchasing, warehouse, and finance to ensure seamless supply chain flow
- Stay current on tariff classifications, HTS codes, and changes in trade regulations
Requirements:- 4+ years of experience in import logistics, customs compliance, or international supply chain management
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS codes, and trade compliance requirements
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international vendors
- Proficiency in import management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor and carrier relationship management
