Knowledge of U.S. import regulations and customs processes
Understanding of customs entry requirements, tariff classification, valuation, and country of origin principles
Working knowledge of USMCA certification requirements and free trade agreement administration
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
Customer service mindset with a commitment to operational excellence and compliance
Understanding of current events in the importing sector of the United States
Experience with broker management
Understanding of entry operations guidelines when entering the US
Ability to assign an HTS to a product
Responsibilities:
Support U.S. Customs team in executing import compliance and customs operations activities
Monitor import transactions for compliance with CBP regulations and internal policies
Review and maintain tariff classifications (HTS), customs valuation information, and import documentation
Assist with data analysis and compliance monitoring initiatives
Investigate and support resolution of customs clearance delays, shipment holds, and entry discrepancies
Maintain compliance documentation and support audit readiness activities
Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, and other business functions for customs compliance activities
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, operational efficiency, and data quality
Monitor regulatory changes and escalate potential compliance concerns to leadership
Support administration of USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement programs
Review and maintain supplier USMCA certifications and supporting documentation
Assist with supplier solicitation efforts and record retention requirements related to USMCA claims
Support qualification reviews and validation of information required for preferential duty treatment
Maintain knowledge of USMCA certification requirements, rules of origin, and documentation standards
Partner with internal stakeholders to maximize compliant utilization of USMCA benefits
Preferences:
3-5 years of recent Import Compliance, Customs, Customs Brokerage, Entry Writer, or Trade Compliance experience
Local to the Alpharetta, GA area and able to attend onsite training; hybrid/remote after training
Degree preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or related field
Experience with HTS classification, U.S. Customs (CBP) regulations, customs entries, broker management, and import compliance
USMCA qualification, rules of origin, tariff stacking, customs audits, duty optimization, Customs Broker or Entry Writer experience
Strong Excel, communication, analytical, and multitasking skills with the ability to work across multiple customs compliance functions
Demonstrated employment stability and a record of successfully completing prior assignments are strongly preferred
