Import Customs Manager - Mandarin Required

We are seeking an experienced Import Customs manager to manage in-house U.S. import customs operations. This role works closely with customs brokers and internal teams to coordinate customs clearance, duty reconciliation, entry corrections, and refund processes.


This is an on-site position. Remote work is not available. A U.S. Customs Broker License is not required.


Key Responsibilities

1. Manage in-house U.S. import customs operations, coordinating documentation, customs clearance, duty payments, and cargo release with customs brokers and internal teams.
   
   
2. Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, HTS classifications, declared values, and country-of-origin information to ensure accuracy and consistency.
   
   
3. Coordinate customs duty declarations, entry corrections, duty refunds, and drawback claims as applicable. Prepare supporting documentation, review filing records, and track each case through completion.
   
   
4. Use the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and relevant customs filing systems to review entry status, duty information, and clearance records. Maintain accurate internal tracking records.
   
   
5. Reconcile duty payments, customs statements, and broker charges. Investigate and resolve discrepancies with customs brokers and finance teams.
   
   
6. Independently follow up on customs examinations, cargo holds, documentation requests, and clearance delays, coordinating with relevant parties to resolve issues.
   
   
7. Monitor changes in U.S. customs requirements and tariff policies, assess their impact on daily operations, and communicate relevant updates internally.
   
   
8. Maintain customs documentation and refund records, support internal compliance reviews, and provide operational guidance to internal teams.
   
   

Qualifications

1. At least three years of hands-on experience in U.S. import customs clearance or in-house customs operations.
   
   
2. Strong practical knowledge of customs duty declarations, entry corrections, duty payments, refunds, and drawback procedures.
   
   
3. Hands-on experience with ACE and relevant customs filing systems, including reviewing entry records, tracking filing status, and reconciling duty information.
   
   
4. Working knowledge of HTS classification, customs valuation, country-of-origin requirements, and applicable duties and tariffs.
   
   
5. Ability to independently manage daily customs operations, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate complex clearance issues with customs brokers.
   
   
6. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English for daily business communication and documentation.
   
   
7. Strong attention to detail, accountability, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
   
   
8. Valid authorization to work in the United States and availability to work on-site.
   
   
9. A U.S. Customs Broker License is not required for this in-house customs operations position.
   
   

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience coordinating duty refunds, drawback claims, or post-entry adjustments with customs brokers.
   
   
2. Experience with ocean imports, international freight forwarding, or cross-border e-commerce logistics.
   
   
3. Experience maintaining customs records, reviewing broker performance, or supporting internal compliance reviews.
