    Description

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare necessary entry documents for wide variety of goods and commodities to the relevant regulatory agencies, such as U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA, in order to secure customs clearance. 
    • Arrange pickup of air and ocean freight at origins and arrange transportation to destination. 
    • Coordinate movement of shipments from port via ocean, air, rail, truck or intermodal. 
    • Prepare and submit Arrival Notices. 
    • Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs. 
    • Communicate with vendors. 
    • Track and trace shipments. 
    • Coordinate deliveries to consignees. 
    • Communicate and follow up with clients regarding shipment status, questions and/or other inquiries. 
    • Advise clients on transportation options, types of carriers, or shipping routes. 
    • Post bonds for the products being imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds. 
    • Pay or arrange for payment of freight, and insurance fees, or other charges. 
    • Maintain communication and information between Customers and Vendors to ensure that customers’ needs are met. 
    • Generate invoicing in accordance with company policy.   
    • Ensuring internal compliance standards are met. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
    • 3+ years freight forwarding industry experience preferred.
    • Customs Brokerage experience preferred.
    • Cargowise One experience.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
    • Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals to complete work accurately, thoroughly and on tight timelines to best serve customer needs.
