POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator(s), Director(s), or designee, the Implementation Support Specialist II aids organizations, leaders, and staff in implementation of innovations by identifying, contextualizing, and improving the use of implementation strategies across a range of settings and building capacity among teams, organizations, and systems. This position involves working with UMass Chan team members and external partners in co-creation and engagement activities, on-going improvement and support, and sustainability efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Promote and facilitate active involvement of stakeholders in all stages of the design and implementation process, resulting in service models, approaches, and practices that are contextualized and tailored to local settings.
  • Bridge people or groups in a system that are vital for the success of an implementation initiative.
  • Lead collaborative implementation planning and the co-development of implementation plans with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Select appropriate process models, frameworks, theories, measures, and other tools to guide implementation efforts.
  • Build consensus with teams, organizations, and systems around implementation initiatives and supports.
  • Work with stakeholders to assess implementation capacity strengths and needs related to the implementation.
  • Lead the co-design of tools, products, processes, governance structures, service models, interventions, implementation strategies and policies related to implementation.
  • Participate in the deployment and analysis of quantitative and qualitative feedback mechanisms at all implementation stages. Lead regular stakeholder debriefings, reflection, and shared learning environments related to feedback.
  • Provide or secure training needed for stakeholders and partners to gain capacity, and connect with others who can provide training, modeling, and coaching.
  • Identify and help to change and/or implement organizational processes and structures required to develop capacity for implementation (e.g., technology).
  • Assist teams, organizations, and systems with identifying, understanding, and addressing changes that occur over time in the use of innovations, local settings, and in the broader system that affect how innovations are delivered.
  • Supervise Implementation Support Specialists I, interns, and other staff
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support implementation efforts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • 2-4 years of professional experience that involves planning activities, teamwork, communication, collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Experience with these activities during academic programs and advanced training will be accepted.
  • Empathetic, curious, strong critical thinking skills, committed to change initiatives, committed to advancing equity in implementation efforts, embraces cross-disciplinary approaches.
  • Computer proficiency: ability to use email, spreadsheets, and other applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicants with knowledge of and experience working with the criminal-legal system are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please note that the range provided reflects the full base salary range for this position. Offers are typically made within the midrange to allow for future growth and development within the role.
